Time at the Lake

Adlee was at the lake for the first time!  It was still a bit cold to go swimming, but she loved dipping her toes in and playing in the sand :)

Sitting up...

With each passing day Adlee is learning something new!  We have really been working on her sitting up and she is mastering this skill fast.  She can't get herself to do it, but if you put her in the sitting position she can balance like a champ!  Getting so big....so fast!

6 month pictures...(did I never post this?!)

Wow...where has the time gone? Expect quite a few posts coming your way..... It has been awhile and we have been busy in the Hicks' household!

Happy 6 Months Baby Girl!

Yikes!  Where has the time gone?  My little girl has been in the world for 6 months already.  She has started some cereal, tries to scoot around with no success (she just does does a push up with her arms and moves her legs), very frustrating for her!  We have been working on her sitting up and she does great with her strength, but balance is not her best quality :)  For short periods she can on her own though.  Her check up went great.  She weighed in at 13lbs 9 oz (twenty-fifth percentile) and measured at 24 inches in length (forty-fifth percentile).  She was all smiles until her shots came, but after the first pokes she settled down a bit when I could hold her again.  Her sleeping has gone down-hill though. After her first ear infection at the end of May, she has been waking up about once or twice a night.  Still trying to get that full 10 hours again.  I am missing a full nights sleep!  She has a difficult time napping in her crib for some reason, but loves her car seat (she will fall asleep almost immediately) if we put her in there. What an odd girl!  Enjoying every moment of my summer with her and love seeing her change daily.

First time sitting in the big girl stroller!

So I know I left her in her car seat for walks way to long, but it was so much fun to play with her while we walked!  This is from the beginning of May, but she loved being able to move around much more when I took her carseat away and moved her to the big girl seat!  No fun for me though, now I can't look at her while we take our daily walks :(

Time with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Wiseth

Great Grandpa Wiseth could not believe how smiley Adlee was.  We were so happy we were able to spend a few hours with them and show off how big little A has gotten.  So happy to share moments like this with family.

First Time for Everything...

Well....Adlee has tried rice cereal for the first time.  She loved it!!  She did such a good job and thought the whole process of eating was fun.  However, when it began to digest she was not such a happy girl.  About an hour of misery followed as her tummy wasn't thinking the rice cereal was the best idea.  We have continued with it however, and are just doing very small amounts at a time so her tummy adjusts to having more than just milk!  I love these pictures we captured though!

Happy Father's Day

We spent Father's Day taking a family nap and going out for dinner.  Just what Dan wanted ;)

I love being able to share all of Adlee's moments with someone, and love that he appreciates each and every thing she does.  What a lucky couple of gals we are to have him.

A few random pictures...

Here are a few random snapshots that I thought were just too sweet not to share.  Baby A loves the camera :)
I have caught little Adlee more than once sleeping on her side.   I think this is her new sleeping position :)

Playing with Grandpa Hyland

All the second cousins together.  Kaylee, Matt, Gabriel, Bentley, and Adlee

Grandma Hyland got to watch both Adlee and Bentley for the day.  She was tired by the end!!

I mean really?   She is so sweet...

Cuddles with mom... I wonder when that bald spot will go away?!

So serious at bath time....

Just having a quick talk outside.

Whisker rubs from Uncle Rob

Three Generations....Great Grandma Hyland, Grandpa Hyland,  Aunt Kasey, Cousin Bentley, Mom, and me!

Swimming!

Adlee loved her first time swimming and was kicking and squealing away in the water.  Didn't hurt that she looked so darn cute in her swimsuit too :)
