Adlee....8 Months!

Finally....I am getting this post up!  Again....about 2 weeks late, but the picture was taken on the day.  She is doing her "so big" trick in this picture.  It was the only way to get her to not play with the sticker and stay still at the same time.  I'll take it :)  This little girl is getting quite the personality.  She is a very happy baby but knows when she isn't getting full attention too and that does not make her a happy camper.  I think she has gotten so used to the camera because as soon as I pull it out she knows what to do.  Loving puffs and yogurt bites (because she can feed herself) and prunes!  Of all things....
Adlee is also loving all things straps.  Her straps to her high chair, car seat, stroller, straps on moms bags, anything!!!! She loves sucking on them and feeling the texture.  Weird....  She is eating 3-4 oz bottle still and starting to eat lots of baby food, or I will puree what Dan and I eat.  She loves that too!  Still not officially a crawler yet, but she moves in her own way by scooting backwards, pulling herself in full circles, and gets up on all fours and rocks.  We definitely need to check what we leave on the floor and baby proof our house.  She loves swimming and when you are down on the floor playing with her.  She is sleeping through the night (again) and I'm hoping it will last.  One of her two front teeth have popped through on the top, and the other one is closely following.  She is clapping when excited and can make quite the few squeals too.  We are working on teaching her waving bye right now!  Another little funny thing, when you fake laugh at Adlee she goes crazy giggling.  Not when you are giving a nice real laugh though, only fake ones.  It is so funny!  Both Dan and I are not taking anything for granted with this little girl.  She is such a blessing and we are still thanking God daily for this gift he gave us.

First Day of Daycare (round 2)

Well....the time has come to send Adlee off to daycare again.  Man...it was just as hard as the first time around.  I have been so spoiled getting to spend so much time with my little girl and I will be forever grateful for that.  Also, it is pretty nice going back to a place where I know she is getting great care, is around great kids, and is happy.  She is happy and smiling when I go to get her, plus she is exhausted at night.  Sleeping through the night all week!  Thanks Kim ;)  I love my job, my co-workers, and especially my students....but I am looking forward to next summer with my little girl already!

Finally......Engaged!!!!!!!

Well...I helped my brother pull of a very big surprise.  His girlfriend Emily was planning a surprise 30th birthday for him.  He was planning on proposing sometime soon.  When he learned of the party (never from me ;)  He decided to really surprise her and turn the tables.  Instead of walking into a surprise party...Emily walked into a surprise proposal.  After all the sweet stuff was said, all of their closest friends and family swarmed in to congratulate them.  The best surprise, Em's dad and sister Melanie from Omaha surprised her.  She was more than ecstatic.  I am so happy to call her family.  Adlee has been working on calling her Auntie Em for awhile now!

A special moment caught by the couple....

Then...we had to celebrate Rob's surprise birthday too!

A picture with the happy couple!

Look who's on the move.....almost!

Adlee has been working on her crawling.  She is 8 1/2 months now.  She can scoot backwards, turn in full circles, roll over and over, and get up on all fours!  She has yet to learn how to scoot forwards and we are patiently waiting and watching for this to happen.

4th of July

We were planning on heading to the lake for just the day on the Fourth of July, but it was so hot and we wouldn't have had anywhere cool to take Adlee so we had our good friends over instead and filled up our little baby pool.  It was a great time had by all.  We had water fights, grilled out, and then got to watch the fireworks from our house as we live to close to MSUM.  Couldn't have asked for a better time :)

All the boys, pretending our tiny little pool was a lake :)

I Love Swimming!

Adlee is in love with water.  I think she takes after me because I love it just as much!  Even if she is freezing....she will scream when getting out.  Here are a few photos of us having some fun.

Family Time

Waterama is my hometown festival in Glenwood, MN.  I have not missed one since I have been born!  Adlee enojoyed her first one by spending lots of time with family and enjoying the parades, walks, and Crazy Day shopping.  Here are a few photos of my family feeding Adlee (they thought she was hilarious eating) and a few of her and Bentley one morning.  I think those two are going to be the best of buds :)
Uncle Rob loved this job......I think he is ready for a few of his own ;)

And then....Bentley had to try it too :)

All the next photos were just too cute to not share....sorry for the visual overload!

This one has got to be my favorite!
